18th Edition
Overview
With the establishment of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, the government has sought to strengthen marine trade, develop operational capacity, diversify opportunities within the marine economy and harness the potential of Nigeria’s blue economy.
In recent years, Nigeria’s blue economy and transport sector have experienced significant redevelopment and changes in international and coastal trade structures, alongside major global disruptions and economic challenges.
Despite these pressures, the sector has remained resilient and continues to play an important role in international trade, global connectivity, employment and economic activity.
The Award and Industry Outlook
For years, Nigeria International Maritime Port and Terminal (NIMPORT) has assessed the performance of the marine and allied sector while providing a platform for stakeholder review, benchmarking and exchange.
The 18th edition of NIMPORT introduces a focused initiative to examine the journey of the sector following the establishment of the new Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, provide an industry outlook, and recognise key players whose contributions have supported the sector.
